🗑️ TWO NEW BINS: RUNWAY PLAY AREA
You may have noticed recently two new blue bins in the Runway play area. These blue bins have been installed by Weston-super-Mare Town Council following feedback I and residents have given.
Weston super Mare town council took over the management of this play area from North Somerset Council about 2 weeks ago, and they have immediately put more bins in - which is great and a good example of why I believe town and parish council are better placed to run play areas than North Somerset Council.
The black public bin outside the play areas remains North Somerset Council though.
I know the play area at Westland road (owned by Persimmon Homes) has no bin and I've been discussing this with Persimmon Homes, alongside the member of parliament for Weston-super-Mare and I'm hoping I'll have a positive update on this very soon.

🌳 WESTON VILLAGE TREE VOLUNTEERS
Like you, when I walk through Weston Village it's obvious to see that several trees need a tidy up, particularly the thick growth at the bottom of them.
Rather than me moan about it I'm intending to get hands on and to cut them back over the next few weeks.
However, I'm one person and I need some help, so it would be good to get a regular group of volunteers together to help cut these back. I'm in discussion with North Somerset Council about organising a community tree trim in the future so if you're interested or want to be notified once I've sorted something out then leave your details via the link below.
